About Wander Women

Wander Woman is a travel site built for women who want to make confident decisions about meaningful, and expensive (at least for me!) trips.

I love traveling, and I love the build-up: the research, the planning, the gear,  even the budgeting! What I don’t love is how long it takes to piece together trustworthy information across a hundred tabs and a dozen hot takes. I am prone to decision paralysis when there is just SO much information.

So I built the website I wished existed: travel guides for women that lay out the options clearly with different comfort levels, different price points, and the tradeoffs that come with each choice.

​

I’m constantly telling my girlfriends they can afford to travel (often sooner than they think), and that doing it can change their lives. I’m here to show you how to plan with clarity, go with confidence, and live the life you dream of.

How I think about Travel (and money!)

I run a mid-size nonprofit that feeds children, so I don’t have unlimited time or money to throw at a trip. That constraint has made me a better planner and a hard-nosed editor of what’s actually worth paying for. So I plan trips the way I plan everything else in my life: with limited time, keeping in mind my personal constraints, with an eye towards where extra money adds extra value.

I don’t believe in gatekeeping information.
I don’t believe in pretending budget doesn’t matter.
And I definitely don’t believe women need to “wait until someday.” We don't have to wait until we're retired, or in better shape, or have the perfect travel companion.

  • Different tiers of travel: budget, mid-range, and splurge - so you can choose what fits your life

  • Gear, tours, and experiences that are evaluated through one question: Was this actually worth it?Some things are worth paying more for. Some things are not. My goal is to help you discern where you want to spend your money on the things you value most.

Because I research trips like I'm taking my friends on them. (Or my mom, like her 60th birthday safari trip!)
